Legislative Activity - Title and Practice Act
Brandi Reaves Government Affairs Committee Chair
This section of the new website will update the ASLA membership about issues and activities in our state legislature that are important to Landscape Architects. ASLA Texas has made great legislative gains over the past five years. And this is due in large part to Dean McWilliams, our legislative advisor in Austin.
The ASLA Texas Executive Committee has established a GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS COMMITTEE to work closely with Dean McWilliams. Brandi Reaves is our Government Affairs Committee - Chair. Her focus in 2005 was coordinating dialogue between TALA and TBAE to review any potential items for Legislative Session 2005.

80th Texas Legislature - Update!! (posted 6-11-2007)
The Regular Session of the 80th Texas Legislature ended on May 28th. Although committee interim studies and other legislative activity will continue, and although there is always the possibility of a special session being called, the end of the regular session nevertheless marks occasion to pause and review the status of the bills affecting the intersets of the American Society of Landscape Architects - Texas (ASLA-Texas).
