Who We Are

Have you ever wondered who those people are that appear on the TX ASLA ballot every year? They are volunteers here to help you get the most out of this professional association. This is the place for you to put a face with the name and learn a little bit more about your elected representatives.

The Texas Chapter of ASLA was established first as a larger regional chapter known as the Southwest Chapter starting in 1959. It was not until 1978 that the current Texas Chapter was created. To give honor to the numberous volunteers that have help shape the current Texas Chapter and the landscape architecture profession in Texas a list of Trustees and Past-Presidents has been created.

Today, Texas is such a large state that ASLA business is conducted on two levels: the chapter and the section. The chapter level deals with issues that govern the whole state, while the section level deals with local issues and events. There are five sections in the Texas Chapter.
