Texas Chapter
The Texas Chapter closely follows the By-Laws of National ASLA. Chapter officers make up the voting body for the state. Each Section also has one representative, the chair who is a voting member on the Chapter level.

Texas Chapter Trustee_Ann McGinnes

A graduate of Texas A&M and Ann holds a Bachelors Degree in Landscape Architecture. Ann is a senior park planner for the Garland Parks and Recreation Department. She serves on the Finance, Archives and Government Affairs Chapter Committees. On the National level she serves on the Emerging Professionals and Leadership Development Committees. It is Ann's goal to recruit good chapter and section leaders throughout the state, to continue legislative and regulatory accomplishments and enhance the visibility of the profession in the state.

Texas Chapter Past President_Jean Kavanagh
The Texas Tech Department of Landscape Architecture and the Texas Chapter of
ASLA mourns the loss of Professor and current Texas ASLA Past President Jean
Kavanagh, who passed away quietly on January 25, 2008. Professor Kavanagh’s
greatest joy in life was working with young people. Every one of her students was her
favorite, and teaching was the greatest gift she gave to them. We’ll miss you, Jean.

Tom is employed by Teaque, Nall and Perkins in Fort Worth, Texas. He graduated from the University of Texas in Arlington with a Bachelor of Science in Architecture and has his Masters in Landscape Architecture from Louisiana State University. His professional interests involve the ecological, environmental and recreational aspects of Landscape Architecture. Tom's objective as President-Elect is to improve the accountability and communication regarding Texas ASLA's financial matters.

Chuck has a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from Mississippi State University. He is a native Mississippian, who moved to Dallas in the late ?90's. He works as a Project Manager for Carter-Burgess in Dallas, Texas. He has a diversified experience working with high-end residential design, land development, and commercial development. Chuck's professional interests include garden design and detail design development.

Amanda is a graduate of the Landscape Architecture program at Louisiana State University. She is employed by Carter-Burgess in Dallas, Tx. Her professional interests include river/waterfront development, exploring new options for construction materials and techniques, xeriscape design and park and recreation facility design. Amanda serves on the Website/Communications Committee. As the State Secretary she is eager to improve communication with the membership.
